Our Human Resources Policy is defined under our Vision, Mission and Corporate Values in order to lay down the necessary tools and procedures for improving our management systems, and this in turn will help us achieve the Quality and Environmental Management System objectives with the involvement of all our collaborators.


The following considerations are determinant in the definition of our Human Resources Management Policy:


  • Continuous improvement principle;
  • Principles of objectivity and equity;
  • Conciliation of Interests and Objectives – Worker/Company;
  • Absolute definition of what is expected of each worker;
  • Offer the necessary tools to allow collaborators to actively participate in all projects.


The most important of these procedures and tools used in the Human Resources Management system are:


Company Manual

Organizing the company structure, by highlighting all the operational areas in terms of organization, qualification and job description.

Through this manual it is possible to look up every Organizational Chart, everyone’s job description, their responsibilities and qualifications.

When referring to this manual, it is also possible to understand the main guidelines of the OPWAY Careers Plan, and how they line up with our professional groups and all admission requisites.


Welcome Manual

An important support tool that helps new staff members to establish their first contact with the company.

Apart from the normal welcome everyone receives when they first join, we believe it is essential to acquaint them with the company policies and procedures by giving them all the necessary information.

In this manual you will find our Values, Vision and Mission, General Organizational Chart, Management Systems, as well as some practical information such as: work schedules, time sheets, supplies requests, holidays, medical support and emergency assistant.


Professional Training

Every year the company organises a set of training programs aiming to boost staff conduct, their knowledge and know how, raising their organizational and/or technical level of work.

All our staff has access to these training programs, and there are a number of programs aimed at certain professional groups.

Apart from these programmes we consider strategically most important to the management system, we at OPWAY aim to set up a number of partnerships and initiatives offering high quality training programs.


Performance Appraisal

This is an annual appraisal of every worker’s performance that allows us to analyse the actual contribution of each individual, to encourage them and set out their professional future. This appraisal is closely linked to the training process since it is during the performance appraisal that the training necessities arise.


Civil Engineering Training Period

The Civil Engineering training period is part of the OPWAY recruitment policy, when young graduates come in to replace the older employees in the various areas, and where they will then receive all the necessary training to get them into Production

The key objectives of this training period are to adhere to the company’s cultural program, and develop specific organizational skills for the jobs they are training for.

This initiative, like so many others that take place annually, ie: group visits to our construction sites, studying and preparing a thesis, is set up to strengthen the ties between the academic world and the business world.
