The sustainability concept, which has been in existence for some time, was an inevitable part of the 1987 World Commission on Environment and Development report:  “Our future in common”. This report defines sustainable development as one that satisfies this generation’s necessities without compromising those of future generations.

This concept is obviously extremely relevant to the construction business: our natural and social environment is highly affected by construction works. Therefore, it is essential to incorporate economic, social and environmental criteria into business strategies in order to promote sustainable construction, and contribute to reasonable economic, transparent and prosperous relations.
